What Is Foundayo?
Foundayo (orforglipron) is a once-daily oral GLP-1 receptor agonist. Unlike some other oral GLP-1 tablets, it is a small-molecule medicine that does not require the strict fasting or water-timing rules some patients find inconvenient.
As with all GLP-1 treatments, dosing starts low and is increased gradually under clinical supervision.
Available strengths: 0.8mg–17.2mg. Your clinician will determine the appropriate starting dose and escalation schedule for you.

Who May Be Suitable
Treatment may be considered for adults who:
- Have a BMI within a clinically defined range
- Have weight-related health conditions (such as hypertension or type 2 diabetes), or
- Meet other medical criteria set out in UK guidance
- Prefer a tablet without strict food and water timing requirements
A full medical history is required before any prescribing decision is made. We do not prescribe for cosmetic weight loss.
How It's Administered
- Taken once daily as a tablet, at any time of day
- Can be taken with or without food, and without the water-timing restrictions required by some other oral GLP-1 medicines
- Swallowed whole with a normal glass of water
- Dose is increased gradually over time under clinical supervision
Who Should Not Use This Treatment
Treatment is unlikely to be suitable if you:
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive
- Have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2)
- Have a known hypersensitivity to orforglipron or any other ingredient in Foundayo
- Have type 1 diabetes or a history of diabetic ketoacidosis
- Have a history of pancreatitis or severe gastrointestinal disease (this will be reviewed individually)

Common Side Effects
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea
- Constipation or indigestion
- Abdominal pain or bloating
- Reduced appetite
- Fatigue or headache
Serious Warning Signs
Seek urgent medical attention if you experience:
- Severe, persistent abdominal pain (possibly spreading to your back), with or without vomiting — may indicate pancreatitis
- Pain in the upper right abdomen, fever, or yellowing of the skin or eyes — may indicate a gallbladder problem
- Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat, or difficulty breathing — signs of a severe allergic reaction
- A lump or swelling in the neck, hoarseness, or difficulty swallowing — should be reported promptly
- Signs of dehydration or kidney problems following prolonged vomiting or diarrhoea

- Clinical trial evidence shows weight regain is common after stopping GLP-1 treatment, so your clinician can discuss a plan for maintaining results
